Volume 5: Lao Tizer first began playing the piano at age eight and has since studied with an impressive array of instructors, classical to jazz, in addition to exploring the world of music composition. At 14, he released the first of three self-produced solo albums As the Eagle Soars.
In February 1998, Lao formed The Lao Tizer Band with Jeff Kollman (guitar), Shane Gaalaas (drums), and Christopher Maloney (bass). After several years of composition, arrangement, and performance, Lao finally emerged with his long-awaited first full production studio album, Golden Soul in 2001 (Frat House Records).
Lao was nominated "The Best New Artist of the Year" for the 2002 National Smooth Jazz Awards unfortunately losing to five-time Grammy winner Alicia Keyes
Jim DeLutes info:
As a young child, it seemed magical to me that a moment in time could be captured on film. I was fascinated with the photography in Life and National Geographic magazines. In my mind I would put myself in the photographer's place and wonder how and why that particular scene had caught their attention. Although I was nineteen before the first roll of film was shot, I had always imagined the world through the rectangular shape of the viewfinder. Through the years thousands of images have been shot and the awe and wonder of capturing moments in time has only increased. Whether it is the simple splendor of a nature scene, the fury of a lightning storm or the intimate encounter with a flower, my hope is that people will feel the desire to 'walk' into my photos, either visually or emotionally. I have been able to share my images with thousands of people who often ask how and why particular scenes caught my attention.
With the ability to portray a timeless wonder in my photography, I wish to share the magic of capturing a moment in time with others.
